Local Routes
Inner city buses running from Rruga e Dëshmorëve or Rruga Adria. The most useful routes for tourists and expats are listed first.
Plepa via Plazh
The route most used by tourists and expats to access the beach area with hotels and restaurants.
Start: Rruga e Dëshmorëve South side by Tirana Bank
Terminus: Plepa Bus Stop ROTONDO at the end of Rruga Pavaresia
Frequency: Approx. 10 mins
Currila
Short line to the Vollga and Currila neighbourhoods via the port and Venetian Tower.
Start: Rruga e Dëshmorëve South side, at the top of Bulevardi Dyrrah. The buses are white, and white/pink with a swirl pattern on the side.
Terminus: Curilla terminus at the end of Rruga Curilla
Frequency: 30
Porto Romano
A route North to the town by the new port via Rruga Aleksander Ggoga.
Start: Rruga e Dëshmorëve, North side, on the corner of Rruga Kassem Durresi
Terminus: Porto Romano terminus at the end of Rruga Aleksander Goga
Frequency: Approx. 10-15 minutes during the day
Golem
Another very important expat and tourist route as the beachfront area expands and more visitors are drawn there.
Start: Rruga Adria, in front of Stacioni i Trenit.
Terminus: Near the hospital in Golem Old Town
Frequency: Every 30 minutes during the day
Plepa Via Unaza
A route to Plepa Bus Station via the Stadium and ring road (Unaza), avoiding Plazh.
Start: Rruga e Dëshmorëve South side by Poli’s Café. The windscreen sign reads ‘UNAZE’.
Terminus: Plepa Bus Station at the junction of Rruga Pavaresia and Rruga Unazes
Frequency: Less frequent than Plazh. Approx. every 20 minutes during the day
Universiteti
As the name suggests, this route takes students to the new campus of the Universiteti Aleksandër Moisiu Durrës, on the road to Sector Rinia
Start: Rruga Adria, South side, opposite the Ramazan Njala Sports Palace.
Terminus: On the University "Aleksandër Moisiu" campus
Frequency: Every two hours
Xhafzotaj
This route is probably of little use to expats or tourists. It takes the same route as the Shijak bus but stops short of
Start: Rruga Adria, South side outside Furrë Bukke at the corner of Bulevardi Dyrrah.
Terminus: Junction of SH49
Frequency: Usually every 15-20 minutes during the day
Sector Rinia
The longest city route, ending at the Durrës Marsh and coastline up to Cap Rodon.
Start: Rruga e Dëshmorëve, near the Martyr's Monument.
Terminus: At the end of Rruga Vath Turja nr the Kisha Katolike Rinia
Frequency: Approx. every two hours. See timetable
Shënavlash
A small village on the outskirts of Durrës, and home to the Monastery of Saint Blaise
Start: Rruga Adria, South side, between the Universiteti and Fushë Krujë stops.
Terminus: Plepa Bus Station at the end of Rruga Pavaresia
